Diego Piñera (UY) - drums, percussion
Alaa Zouiten (MAR) - oud

“The fusion between the traditional sound of the oud and the band's urban jazz tones has created a unique sound that is both catchy and captivating. This harmonious fusion has challenged us as musicians – and inspired us at the same time”. This is how Alaa Zouiten describes the collaboration with the Berlin fusion band "For Free Hands".
The quartet around guitarist and composer Andreas Brunn has expanded the line-up for their new album "The Passing on the Fire" - and invited Zouiten, a guest musician, to the studio with whom the band has been friends for years. With his virtuoso playing of the ten-stringed oud, which sounds similar to a European lute, Zouiten can be heard on five of the nine compositions. This cultural bridge between Orient and Occident resulted in an extraordinarily intense and colorful album.
