about

To embark on new musical paths with each album is extremely important to the 35-year-old guitarist Sebastian Böhlen. "I am interested in many things and want to express this diversity in my records as well," he clarifies. His playful virtuosity and his great talent for composition have already taken him to the “Carnegie Hall” and the “Lincoln Center” in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic and the jazz festival in Montreux. At his concerts and numerous recordings, he had the opportunity to play with jazz legends such as Al Jarreau, Randy Brecker and David Liebman.
After “Miscela” (2014), the jazz cantante “Born under this soft wind” (2017) and “Fun Flowers” (2019, all LAIKA Records), “Fallalarenko” is the album that can be most clearly located in jazz. The cast alone takes care of that. For years, Böhlen has had a musical bond with Max Leiß (double bass) and Julian Fau (drums). “I grew up with albums by guitar trios and always found it appealing to use the freedom that such a triumvirate offers. Above all, the opportunity to focus on the immediacy of the musical moment, ”said Böhlen.
